Handmade with Bethany RW Review

This next review will highlight my little sister's new Etsy shop, Handmade with BethanyRW!

When deciding what to review for her it was seriously kind of a struggle.  She has given me so many adorable home décor items over the years!  But one of my absolute favorite is this personalized family sign.  Find it in her shop HERE!

Another favorite is her Home Letter Set.  This set is adorable for any occasion or season.  She hand paints each interchangeable "O" decoration so you can switch it out to your hearts content.  I love the little birthday cake for birthdays that day or month!  She has a few already listed like her adorable cat for Halloween and turkey for Thanksgiving.  I still remember my mom having a little wooden bunny that we would switch out the fabric ears and little decorations it would hold for each holiday, it's one of my favorite decorating memories, and I'm sure this Home Letter Set will be just the same for my own kids!

Bethany has a variety of paints that you can choose from to match your own home so you're Letter Set will fit right in!

She also has the cutest Welcome Letter Set where you can interchange the "O" with a variety of cute little pieces also sold in her shop.  Something I love about Bethany's creations is that they are the perfect addition to any home and they make your house feel like a home.  It is the perfect thing for a newlywed or house warming gift!

She also has the cutest accessory blocks, my favorite right now is of course the Halloween Set!  It's the cutest little addition to your seasonal décor!

You can find Bethany and all the cute projects she has in the works on her blog, Instagram, and Etsy Shop!  Head on over and give her some love, she's a perfectionist on all of her work-that's why I'll have her do all of my craft projects for me!  Her painting and creativity is really just perfect and can't be beat!

There is still time to enter to win an adorable wood pumpkin decoration from Bethany and other fabulous fall finds in the Pumpkin Giveaway I'm hosting this week.  Head on over to my Instagram and search for her pumpkin decoration or go to the direct blog link HERE to enter to win.  You'll also find all the other cute items the winner will receive and additional ways you can enter!  Run on over while there is still time!

Beth's Card Creations Review

I'm so excited to review Beth's Card Creations next on our Etsy Shop highlights this week.  Beth is contributing her pumpkin garland to the collaborative giveaway I'm hosting.  Her shop is all about celebrating life and the cutest decorations to do just that!

I worked night and day to get the cutest models I could think of, their schedules are usually pretty busy.  Luckily they were all willing to eat some ice cream and help their Aunt out! ;)

Beth was so sweet and sent me an extra garland for review and let me tell you, they are unlike any other garlands!  They are handmade, durable, and totally customizable! She sent me her raindrop sprinkle garland, perfect for baby showers and Beth will even make it in the client's custom colors.  She has tons of other color options in her shop HERE

Not only does Beth make the cutest garlands she makes banners, cupcake toppers, gift tags, magnets and even centerpieces!  She really is your one stop party shop!  You can tell how much time and effort she puts into each of her pieces to make your celebration as fabulous as can be.

I absolutely loved hearing the story behind her Etsy shop from Beth herself.  She said, "My shop is called “Beth’s Card Creations” with a tagline of “for life’s celebrations.” I started my shop in 2009 while undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Making things and being creative was a great way of taking my mind off of my illness. When I was declared cancer-free in 2010, I really had cause to celebrate, and I had an even greater desire to help others make the most of life’s celebrations. My favorite orders to make are custom orders where the client has specific colors or a certain style in mind for garlands or banners. I love to make the buyer feel special by creating something that appeals specifically to her or his sense of style."

Isn't she just incredible.  She's super creative and talented AND has a heart of gold!

When I first saw this garland it made me think of my ice cream gender reveal that I threw for my family.  It would have been the perfect addition!

Her garlands are so well priced you could order a few and make the perfect and unique backdrop for any party or tablescape.  Check out what I mean at  Beth's shop HERE!

So head on over to Beth's Card Creations and give her and her cute shop some love. You can also find her on Instagram and Facebook.

There is still time to enter to win Beth's Pumpkin Garland and some other fun fall goodies included in this giveaway!  Check out the blog post here or my Instagram post to enter!

Handwritten Harper Review

I am so excited to highlight some of these amazing Etsy sellers from the collaborative giveaway I'm hosting this week.  Let's start out with the incredible shop Handwritten Harper-she even gave us our very own coupon code for 20% off your order at her shop-use code RUTHANNE at checkout!

I have been a huge fan of Megan's work since I found her on Instagram months ago.  Can you even handle how perfect her writing is?

Her handmade rustic signs are hand-painted on wood and each individually made by Megan herself, giving a unique character to each of her pieces.  I totally admire that she doesn't use any stencils or vinyl to create her signs it's all handwritten.  Not only does she have adorable sayings and quotes you can keep up year round, she also has the cutest holiday signs!  Obviously I love her Hello Pumpkin sign, but there are even more signs that are just perfect like my favorite quote from a past LDS conference HERE, or the cutest Christmas sayings-my favorite is THIS ONE!

I'd love to hear which one is your favorite!  Leave a comment below or grab one for yourself and let me know which one you picked!

I love the character and uniqueness of these signs.  No matter what color scheme you have in your home or decorations you already have, one (or loads) of her signs would make the perfect addition!  I think it's awesome that you can't find something like this at some big box decoration shop.  Can you imagine one of her signs incorporated in a gallery wall?!   How cute would that be!

Find Megan and her amazing work at Handwritten Harper on Etsy, Instagram, and Facebook.  Show her and her shop some love!  She seriously is a sweetheart and you will not be disappointed following along on her perfectly handwritten accounts!

Megan was so kind and sent an extra sign for me to review as well and I'm so excited that I get to enjoy this beautiful sign for years to come.

I loved pairing this sign with some Target Dollar spot finds, and some new little treats.  Have you ever tried the chocolate coconut cashews at Costco.  My word!  Buy a sign (and don't forget to use code RUTHANNE at checkout for 20% off your order) from the cutest Megan and snack on these while you're admiring it!

There is still time for you to enter to win your very own Handwritten Harper sign!  Head to my Instagram and find the Pumpkin Giveaway or go HERE for a direct link to all the goodies the giveaway winner will receive and how to enter.  Entering is super easy so head on over!

Family Fun Night!

This past weekend we got together with Brittany's family to have a Family Fun Night!  Full of fun, food and of course family!  I count down the days till I can get together with my family so when I was inspired by the Christian movie service Pure Flix to make my ideal family night, it was just the excuse I needed to throw something together.

We started the night with some mini pizzas!  I love the easy idea of using a French bread loaf and having personalized mini pizzas.  And these yellow peppers are seriously a game changer.

After pizza, the kids played a cute little game I use to play with my friends when I was younger.  We would pretend we were acting out a movie and the person that was the "Director" would be able to say rewind, fast forward, play, scene select and mute.  The people playing in the movie would have to act out whatever the Director said.  The kids thought this was hilarious!  Especially mute, and I think all of us adults liked that one the most too!

They also loved being the Director and having us adults act out the different movies they thought of.  It was pretty adorable to see.

Next up treats!

I made a DIY popcorn bowl station.  Everyone could grab a bowl of popcorn and add their favorite candies.  We chose everyone's favorite candies and perfect mix-ins.  I think the crowd favorites were Milk Duds and Junior Mints!

I mean who wouldn't want a bowl that looks like this!
You can't watch a movie without a bowl of popcorn!

And for the main event we watched some good old VeggieTales!

Even if we didn't decide on VeggieTales it was so cool to see so many clean and worry free movies and TV shows that are family friendly.  I love never having to worry about language or content, Pure Flix made it such a breeze-no matter what you choose from them it is always a good fit for everyone.

And it was so fun to see movies that I've seen or have always wanted to see!  When my sister and I saw one of our favorite movies Belle and the Beast we were pretty excited too! It's a modern day take on Beauty and the Beast and it is the perfect mix of romance, comedy and drama-all while being clean.

We finished the night with some soda floats!  We love mixing it up other then always having the classic rootbeer float.  The crowd favorite was the orange soda float, it tastes so good!

If you are in a movie rut or want to try a movie service that's clean and appropriate for the whole family check out Pure Flix!  They are currently offering a free one-month trial, if you're interested you can find more information about that HERE!  Try it out and let me know which movies are a must watch so I can add them to my list!

So there's my idea of a perfect, stress-free family fun night!  What makes up your ideal family fun night?!  I'd love to know your ideas below.

What we ATE in Southern California!

We had so much fun and food while we were in California!  Call me crazy but we actually had a list of things we wanted to try BEFORE we even flew out.  It made it so nice to pull out the list whenever we were hungry and didn't have to think or figure out all the options.

I loved to look at (especially Disney) foodie accounts on Instagram and even some blogs to figure out the best food and treats we just had to try!

My favorite and most helpful Disney Foodie Accounts on Instagram were:
@firstcomesdisney
@4allthingsdisney

DOWNTOWN DISNEY

Marceline's Confectionery

The S'mores Bar was one of my favorites with a thick layer of marshmallow, then chocolate fudge and a crust of graham cracker all dipped in chocolate you can't go wrong.

The chocolate dipped pineapple skewer was so refreshing!  We loved the perfect pineapple paired with the dark chocolate.

This peanut butter sandwich is perfect for those peanut butter lovers.  I love how it has a bottom of graham cracker and of course, how it's completely covered in chocolate.  I LOVE my peanut butter, but this wasn't my favorite-I think I'd take the S'more Bar over this.

When my family and I would go on Disney vacations when I was little I remember huge rice krispy treats that were incredible, we would get them all the time!!  I was kind of disappointed by how average and small (haha) they were.  They are super cute though!

Sprinkles Cupcakes

Here we got a double chocolate peppermint cupcake.  It was pretty good, I loved the combo of chocolate and peppermint.  The line was pretty long though and I'm not sure it was all it was hyped up to be.

Churro Cart

I'm not kidding when I say this was the best $10 I've ever spent on a treat!  This churro sandwich was incredible!  And incredibly messy!  Think of the most amazingly warm churro mixed with perfectly creamy vanilla ice cream.  Its cinnamon sugar heaven I tell you-and Dallin approved!

Other things we ate...

-Earl of Sandwich-We really liked our sandwiches from here! Warm and filling!

Next time we'll try...
-Churro Cart-Oreo Churro

DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURES

The Cove Bar

Here we got a Cotton Candy Lemonade and Lobster Nachos.  I was so surprised how much I loved both of these things!  The Cotton Candy Lemonade was the perfect balance of sweet and tart, and it comes with cotton candy-what's not to like about that.  The Lobster Nachos had a great mix of flavors, colors, and textures we ate them so fast I didn't get a picture! Make sure to eat here before it gets late, I've heard they close early.

Ghiradelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate

We were slightly disappointed by our sundaes at Ghiradelli Square.  I got the Treasure Island Warm Brownie Sundae and Dallin got The World Famous Hot Fudge Sundae (not pictured).  They were good, just typical.

Other things we ate...

-Mickey Pretzel (get it with cheese)
-Churros Cozy Cone 1-Churro bites with caramel sauce.  My favorite treat out of all the parks.  I loved this one so much!
-Festival of Holidays-This was a special festival that was going on during the holidays.  We tried a few things from different ones but nothing rocked our world.

Next time we'll try...
-The Cove Bar-Trio of Tri Tip Sliders and Wild Strawberry Lemonade
-Cozy Cone 3-Chili Cone Queso or Chicken Verde Cone
-Clarabelle's Hand Scooped Ice Cream-I love the idea of creating your own special hand dipped creation!
-Flo's V8 Café-Brioche French Toast with Salted Caramel Sauce

DISNEYLAND

Jolly Holiday Bakery Café

The Matterhorn Macaroon was a total favorite!  They have definitely mastered the perfect coconut macaroon dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with more white chocolate it makes it easy to have a few!  I had to take one home so my mom could taste the magic too!

Rasberry Rose Mickey Macaron and Salted Caramel Mickey Macaron (seasonal) were huge and delicious!  Our favorite was the Raspberry Rose.  With a handful of fresh raspberries layered inside it makes it so light and refreshing.

We also had a warm cinnamon roll from here-it was pretty good!

Pooh's Corner

I heard rave reviews of Pooh's Corner and it did not disappoint.  Besides all the amazing goodies it has the cutest souvenirs and decorations.  We loved the candy making windows.  We had heard a lot about Tigger Tales (the orange ones below), we decided to try a classic Mickey Marshmallow Pop and a regular dipped chocolate one.  Our favorite was the dipped chocolate without the sprinkles, but we really liked both!  They have the most soft, delicious caramel around marshmallows then dipped in chocolate!  It's a great combo!

Shop just out of Pirates of the Caribbean

You can't ride Pirates without getting some chocolate coins after!  My mom would always get them for us after this ride so it's basically a tradition now.

Maurice's Treats

A Boysen Apple Freeze is frozen apple juice with some wild berry flavoring topped with a passion fruit foam.  This was just ok to me.

This chocolate twist was also just so-so to me.  It's twisted pastry dough with chocolate and dusted with powdered sugar.  Dallin liked this more than I did.

Stage Door Cafe

I know this isn't the best picture but it does not do this amazing corn dog justice!  We waited almost as long as we did for corn dogs as we did for some rides, but I would do it again in a heart beat.  This hand-dipped corn dog was seriously the best one I've ever had!  It is large enough to feed two and the almost corn bread like crust hits it out of the park.  We loved that you could choose fries or apple slices too.  The apples slices were perfect to throw in our bag for later.

Mint Julep Bar

We got these treats later in the night so excuse the darkness.  We got a New Orleans Mint Julep that was a little too minty for us. I know this is loved by many so don't hate us!  All the flavors just didn't go for us.  We did love the Mickey-shaped Beignets, topped with powdered sugar these little fluffs are almost like a donut and scone mixed together.  They are totally delicious!  Shake the bag to make sure you coat them well before you dig in.

Churro Cart by Haunted Mansion

We heard that THE BEST churros in Disneyland were from the cart by Haunted Mansion.  Honestly I preferred the churro and caramel dipping sauce from California Adventure's Cozy Cone, but it was of course still delicious.

Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor

This ice cream shop is perfectly placed to enjoy some ice cream while watching the firework show.  We got a seasonal peppermint ice cream in a dipped peppermint waffle cone.  It was so good!  We loved the minty flavor, not too much, just right!

Other things we ate...

-Blue Bayou-I got the Broiled Filet Mignon, which was delicious and Dallin got the Surf & Turf which he loved too!  We especially loved their cornbread it was SO perfect I wanted to take a box to go!  It also had the most amazing atmosphere, this is the restaurant located inside Pirates of the Caribbean.  We sat right by the water and it was so relaxing after running around the park all day.  Definitely make a reservation for this one, they fill up fast and you can make a reservation online or over the phone up to 60 days before your visit.

-Tiki Juice Bar-We got a Dole Whip Float and really liked it.  I prefer the float and Dallin likes just the soft serve.  I thought it was a perfect blend with the pineapple juice.  Perfect for a hot day at the park!
-Bengal Barbecue-Safari Skewer and a Chieftain Chicken Skewer are such a great snack!  We loved the sauce on the chicken skewer.
-Edelweiss Snacks-Fried Chimichanga-this was like a fried bean burrito. It was just ok, not sure if we'd get this again.

Next time we'll get...

-Jolly Holiday Bakery Café-Frozen Pomegranate Silver Sparkler and a Seasonal Whoopie Pie
-Café Orleans-Mickey Beignets with dipping sauce, Pomme Frites
-Pinocchio Village Haus-Flatbread Pizza
-Pooh's Corner-White Chocolate cookie and a Chocolate Chip cookie
-Carnation Café-Mickey waffles, baked potato soup, fried pickles and a cherry milkshake
-Harbour Galley-Clam chowder sourdough bowl or lobster roll
-Candy Place-This is similar to Pooh's Corner.  I love all the cute souvenirs and obviously candy here!  I want to try the chocolate turtles, dipped caramel sticks, caramel apples, and sugar cookies.
-Hungry Bear Restaurant-House-made Chocolate Brownie or Churro Funnel Cake, Honey Bee Frozen Lemonade, onion rings
-Plaza Inn-Fried Chicken
-Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante-Anything here!  It all looks delicious!
-Troubadour Tavern-Bacon and Sour Cream Stuffed Baked Potato and a Cinnamon-Apple Baton

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD

Butterbeer Cart

We love Butterbeer!  We tried it frozen and original and we loved both, but the original was slightly better to us.  The frozen is like a slushie and was sweeter than the classic, we were there on a pretty cold day so it nearly froze us.  The original is butterscotch cream soda with a vanilla foam on top!  Delicious!

Honeydukes

This shop is so cute!  It has all sorts of Harry Potter treats.  Sadly the fudge here was a bust.  I wouldn't recommend it.

The Three Broomsticks

We loved eating here!  The ambiance was absolutely perfect and the food was incredible.  I got the Fish and Chips and Dallin got the Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken, mine was pretty amazing but Dallin's dish was even better!  If you go to Universal Hollywood The Three Broomsticks is definitely a must!

Lard Lad Donuts

This donut is no joke!  It's easily the size of 4 regular sized donuts!  With the size, a strawberry glaze and sprinkles this was a fun donut to try!

SAN DIEGO

Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill

This came highly recommended and we are so glad we stopped by here after the zoo!  Dallin got a super filling red snapper plate and I got clam chowder.  I'm not a huge fan of seafood but this place made me change my mind.  The clam chowder was perfectly seasoned and incredible!

I can't wait to go back and try more!  We absolutely love trying new things so if you have any recommendations let me know!

If you'd like to know all that we did while in Southern California you can go HERE!
