January Visiting Teaching Continued

I love a good handout idea especially for visiting teaching.  It's great to drop off on their door step if you're in a rush or to bring with your visit and expand on the message.  This month I shared my thoughts and some handout ideas HERE, that would be great to use for the sisters you visit teach and also if you're in the Relief Society Presidency or a District Leader to share the new principle for the month.

In honor of our beloved Prophet Thomas S. Monson passing away at the beginning of this month I wanted to share a few quotes that I love from him.  He was such an incredible example of positivity, kindness, and had such good humor.  He will be missed!

These quotes can be put on the fridge with a magnet or they are also the perfect size for my favorite IKEA frames!

Give them with some treats or leave them just the way they are!   Wouldn't it be so fun to give this with some cheap gold jewelry to bring out the gold in the frames?!  Like this cute, inexpensive bracelet you can find HERE!

No matter what you give or don't give along with these quotes they are a great reminder to have up in your house all month long, or until the next set comes with the next visit. ;)

January Visiting Teaching Message/Principle

Keep in Touch Anytime, Anywhere, Any Way

I'm so excited to kick off another year of Visiting Teaching ideas and printables.  I'm hoping to have even more this year!  With the recent changes to visiting teaching I'm not quite sure how to continue with handouts and messages, but bear with me and I'm sure I'll figure it out.  Or feel free to let me know what you'd like to see from me.

Today I'm sharing my ideas for the January visiting teaching principle.  I am a visiting teaching district leader in my ward and I think this would be the perfect reminder to give your district.  Or even with the new changes I think this principle could be great to share with your own sisters you visit teach.  I'm hoping to have a general message for each month that you can use if you'd prefer that instead so stay tuned.

Aren't snowflakes so magical!  I love that no two snowflakes are exactly the same.  Just like us!  We each have our own unique personalities, talents, strengths and weaknesses.  We each have something to contribute and share with one another.  I love that visiting teaching helps us do just that.  Since we are all different we all prefer different ways to be contacted.  No matter how we reach out to our sisters by text, phone call, visits, etc. as long as we keep reaching out and staying in touch that's all thats important-not the way or how we do it, as long as we do it.

With snowflakes in mind I came up with a little snowflake treat kit.

Each candy bar goes along with a saying to remind you just how sweet visiting teaching really is.  I used mini candy bars or winter themed candies, but you could use snack size or even one full sized candy bar.

It's the perfect way to share your leftover Christmas candy or an easy way to grab a few bags of candy and divide them up among your sisters.

Package all the treats in the cutest little favor boxes and your on your way.  My mom bought these boxes from Target years ago in the party section and I attached a foam snowflake to the front and finished it off with some blue, silver and snowflake ribbon.  You can also find boxes like these HERE in white or HERE in color!

I found a poem about snowflakes on Pinterest and had to use it some way.  You could give your sisters just this printable or attach it with the snowflake treat kit!

Or give them a cute snowflake gift.  This mini plate is perfect for little baked goodies or jewelry.  I found it at the Target Dollar Spot.  Or there is this super cute snowflake bracelet or pin you can find HERE!  Even a snowflake candle from Bath and Body Works would be a great addition, they are on sale too because they are the Christmas/Winter scents.  You can find those HERE!

Or even some other little things you can find in the Target Dollar spot like this Let It Snow garland/sign, or snowflake clip magnets or even a little felt craft.

Another super simple idea is a set of note cards.  This is a great way to encourage them to reach out to their sisters in a note and let them know how much and what they love about them.

I found these in the Target Dollar Bins, they always have really adorable options for only $1.

Or just give the little printable and let them know how much you love them!
