Hey Smart Cookie!

I've mentioned before that Dallin loves to tutor during the school year.  Every year when back to school comes around he gets so excited to catch up with the kids he's come to be friends with and gets so excited to work with them again.  He is so good with teens and awesome with homework (trust me I know) so it's the perfect after work gig for him.
Last year we started giving them little treats here and there to let them know just how cool we think they are!

So for back to school we hoped to ring in the new school year with good vibes and cookies!

Have you ever been to Smart Cookie?  It's the best cookie shop in town!  Their Lemon Drop frosted sugar cookie is one of my favorites including their Classic Vanilla sugar cookie of course, but really I've heard great things about all of them Frosted, and Gourmet Non-Frosted alike!

This time we decided to go the Gourmet Non-Frosted route.  So we packaged some delicious cookies up for each person in adorable little bags and of course attached a fun little tag. My mom found these cute bags at Zurcher's in all different colors.  Just a word of advice, if you plan on putting baked goods in these bags be sure to first put them in a plastic bag or line the bag with wax paper so the bag doesn't get dirty.

I'm thinking they will love them, what do you think?

If you'd like the tag they would be a perfect little addition to homemade cookies or store bought or even a tub of cookie dough for neighbors, teachers and students to celebrate back to school-you can find it HERE!

This month is all about recharging and refreshing your beauty routine after a long summer.  Especially with the eyes!  There are so many great products in this box to help you achieve a great new look!
I'm loving the Play! Books that come along with all the products.  It is jam packed with helpful advise about the products and how to apply them!

-Urban Decay Perversion Mascara-This triple-black pigment has a buildable and creamy formula, claiming to lengthen and add volume to lashes.
-Clean Reserve Blonde Rose Perfume-I better clear the air and say I'm not a fan of floral scents I just prefer more fruity.  With that out of the way, this sample is floral to a T! It has notes of rose, jasmine, and peony, with a sandalwood base. Not my cup of tea haha get it? ^^^
-LancĂ´me Energie De Vie Smoothing and Glowing Liquid Care Moisturizer-This lotion relieves dullness, diminishes signs of fatigue and gives a healthy-looking glow.
-Caudalie Resveratrol Eye Lifting Balm-This eye cream lifts and smooths the eye area while reducing the look of dark circles and puffiness.

No Bake Cookies

No Bake Cookies are one of the easiest and tastiest treats my family absolutely loves!  We have been making these simple cookies for years!  These cookies are the perfect blend of chocolate, peanut butter and oatmeal.

No Bake Cookies
2 C. sugar

4 T. cocoa

1 stick butter

1/2 C. milk

1 C. peanut butter

1 T. vanilla

3 C. oatmeal

In a heavy saucepan bring to a boil:  sugar, cocoa, butter and milk.  Let boil for 1 minute then add peanut butter and vanilla and stir until peanut butter has melted.  Then mix in the oatmeal.  On a sheet of aluminum foil, drop mixture by the spoonful.  Let cool and harden in the fridge.

August Birchbox

Hair's to you!
This box includes two hair samples to help you enjoy every last bit of summer with out stressing about how your hair looks.

I have to mention how I'm loving the designs of the boxes lately.  They have been so different and fresh and I just love them!

Included in this box:

-Avene Micellar Lotion Cleanser and Make-Up Remover-I've tried this product before and it really does help my make-up remove quickly.  I didn't know that this also offers toning benefits too!

-Beauty Protector Protect & Oil-This helps hair stay happy, healthy and shiny!  It smells like any other great hair oil.  I love that this gives shine without looking greasy.  (This little bottle was open in my box :( It kind of got everywhere.)

-Klorane Shampoo with Chamomile-For Blonde Hair with bonus Conditioner-This smell reminds me of hotel shampoo and conditioner.  Is that bad?  haha It does smell fresh and clean and this boasts of bringing out blonde highlights while getting rid of residue and prevents color from turning brassy!  The conditioner should add great hydration and shine.

-Manna Kadar Cosmetics The Day Dream Palette-This was allllll over my box when I opened it. Some how it broke in transit but it does look super pretty and I'll definitely be using all my Pinterest hacks of fixing broken shadows soon!  The card claims that this would give the perfect summer glow with a bronzer/highlight duo but sadly I can only see one mixed color.

-Marcelle Hydra-C 24H Energizing Hydrating Gel-Mixed with great things like green tea, cucumber extracts, vitamins C and E this gel moisturizer nourishes the skin while guarding against pollutants.

Usually my box as well as all the samples arrive safely and in perfect condition but I guess there is a first for everything.

July 2016 Highlights

Oh July! I can't believe it's already come and gone.

We celebrated our 1st Anniversary up in Park City with incredible nachos at The Montage.  We also strolled through the Outlets for a little bit and got ice cream on Main Street.  We had some extra time so we also went on a little scenic drive.  We loved it!

We also loved reminiscing about that fun day a year ago.  I've shared loads of pictures and thoughts about this day under the Label of Summer Lovin if you'd like to reminisce with us you can go HERE!

My mom was the absolute sweetest and surprised us with a box of chocolates form See's with all our favorites!

We celebrated the 4th and 24th!  Below are some of my favorite pictures like ever.  Dallin and Emma really are such good friends, and I love it! I mean look at their faces and Emmas little dress, heart eyes all around!

My amazing parents had tons of food for us and we finished the night with s'mores.

My parents next door neighbors were also having a party in their backyard and had great fireworks, we had pretty amazing seats for the show! :)

I made some fruit cookies-you can find my recipe HERE! Instead of shaping the dough out in a pizza I scooped the dough out with a cookie scoop and flattened them before I put them in the oven.

I'm sorry I can't help myself! haha

Brittany gave us all a cute 4th of July star wreath!

I taught our Sunday School Lesson on the importance of covenants and made these cute little candy airplanes for the class!  You can find my lesson outline and printouts HERE!

We went to Bear Lake with my family and I ate waaaay too many of these...
If you'd like to see our favorite spots in Garden City you can go HERE!

We decided to extend our anniversary celebrations a little bit and go to the Steak Pit one night, while we were heading up for their summer movies on the plaza deck.

Did you know if you eat at The Steak Pit you can take your receipt to the ticket desk and they will give you tram tickets-for free!  It was the best thing ever and perfect to sneak in right before the movie started.

Sorry for the picture overload it was just so dang pretty.  They even have tables and chairs up there you can just chill and enjoy the incredible scenery.  We're hoping to go back up sometime and pack a picnic!

This is what we watched Inside Out on, at sunset! Really it's so fun, they have the list of movies on their site, but sadly the movie season is over.  :(  Make sure to go next year!

We loved how you can see the stars so perfectly too!

We went to the Dinosaur Museum for a project for a class of mine and we took a long a few cute kids so we didn't look too crazy!
Adam HAD to take a picture with the big dinosaur out front, look how little he is!!

Ah he's adorable!  We had such a fun time!

We also went to a baby blessing for Dallin's brothers baby which was so fun and saw The Secret Life of Pets (FYI we were a little disappointed with it).
And that's a wrap for JULY!

ZzzQuil Review

This summer our schedule has been packed which leads to more than a few late nights, and switching up our sleeping schedule.  I already have a hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep.  So this combo was definitely not ideal.

Introducing ZzzQuil!  These small little pills help you sleep a full night through and get you to sleep faster.  So of course I was all in to test it out!

Claims to:
-Help you fall asleep in less than 20 minutes
-Sleep Soundly. Wake refreshed.
-Not for pain.  Just for sleep.
-Ensure time to get a sufficient night's sleep (7-8 hours).

Actually did:
-I'll be honest the first time I received a sample of this I was not impressed.  I did not fall asleep quickly, nor did I stay asleep through the night.  It was really like any other sleepless night.  But I had a very different experience the second time I tried the same sample, I was struggling to fall asleep, took these and within less than 10 minutes I was out.  Moral of the story I think you have to be even a little bit tired to help this product work it's magic.
-If you're restless, tired and having a hard time falling asleep it will help you get to sleep faster.
-No drowsiness after waking up.

As I mentioned before this product was totally up my alley, but I have slightly mixed reviews.  If this product would work as it did the second time a tried it-every time I would totally love it.  If you have other sleeping tips please let me know!

I got this sample for free from Influenster.  All opinions are my own.

Bear Lake 2016

Every summer we go up to Bear Lake with my family.  Even though it is just a little weekend getaway it's so nice to take a break from reality and be with my very favorite people!

We've been going to a great friend of the family's cabin (which is amazing in itself) for years and we've found a few spots in Garden City we just can't pass up.  So here's a highlight of our Bear Lake trip and what we recommend if you ever find yourself in the area.

First stop the Bear Trapper Restaurant!

This spot is perfect for families and so laid back.  We love their rolls and raspberry butter and they even serve raspberry sorbet before the meal to cleanse your palate, so fancy I know! haha But really this place is a great little home town diner that serves everything from burgers to pasta and more!

Our cute little dinner dates loved the fountains and big bear out front.  Emma just loved sitting by Dallin.  They were talking and laughing together (nonstop) all throughout the meal!

My most favorite stop of all is The Chocolate Bear!

Full of everything sweet and dipped in chocolate.  My kind of store! :)

They sale everything from honey, fudge, chocolate dipped-everything, candies of all kinds and more!

My top picks are the chocolate covered rice krispie treat.
(pictured below)

And OF COURSE the chocolate dipped raspberries!  They are hand dipped individually, so they are basically the best things you've ever laid your eyes on!  We make sure to stock up while we are there!  Keep them in the fridge, they are delicious cold.

Beach Time-This year we went to the private beach entrance located near our family friends cabin and it was so much fun, but we have also been to North Shore and we loved the area there.  They keep it well maintained and you can play in the sand without worries!  Just make sure to bring some cash with you if you go to North Shore, it's about $5 per car.

Another must is raspberry shakes at La Beau's Hometown Drive In.  Their shakes are large and in charge and perfect after a long day at the beach.

Not pictured but still MAJOR favorites:

-CafĂ© Sabor-The most delicious Mexican restaurant with amazing chips and salsa!  Their chimichangas are my very favorite! I could go here for every meal while we are there but it's probably better that I don't. This place is definitely a winner!

-Firehouse Pizzeria-This is a good one, but order a long time in advance!  We wanted to take the pizzas back to the cabin for dinner and we didn't get back until after it got dark!  Needless to say the service is definitely not the greatest, but the pizza really is pretty good!

There are also so many little things that make up our Warner Family Bear Lake trips.  You can't beat the sunsets up there!

The beautiful cabin we stay at every year is totally amazing!

There are few things better than eating chocolate raspberries while enjoying the Bear Lake sunset.

Courtney's muffins!  My sister in law makes THE most insanely delicious muffins that of course have raspberries in them!

Talks and naps on the hammock.

I was a little slow in snapping this so I didn't get the whole group, but this year we just walked around the little shops all together and we loved it.

Adam made it his own personal mission to find, touch and tack a picture with every bear he saw.

Brittany's kids seriously keep us all entertained!  They are THE cutest!

And of course loads of family time!

^^Everyone but Brittany, thanks for taking the picture Britt!

I just really love this family of mine.  Until next time!
