Breadstick and Soup Recipes

We have almost every Sunday dinner with my family at my Mom and Dad's house.  It is so fun to see my family so often and hear what happened throughout the week.  I love it!

Since more and more people are coming into our family we decided we should bring a dish to help out in some way every week!

This last Sunday we had 2 different soups and I tried a new breadstick recipe.

My Mom found a Minestrone recipe and a Chili recipe from the Sister's Cafe and they were both so yummy!!

Now for the super easy and delicious breadsticks!

All you have to do is grab a bag of Rhodes rolls and let them thaw for about 3 or so hours on a baking sheet.  Once you can form them roll them out, cover and let them double in size.  Right before you throw them in the oven brush them with some melted butter and cook for 10-12 minutes in a 375 degree oven.  Once they are slightly golden pull them out and brush them again with butter and sprinkle with some garlic salt, garlic powder and Parmesan cheese.

My pictures can't do these justice.  I wish I made more just so I could have had a couple more!!

Once they sit for a bit that cheese just melts perfectly.  These will definitely be my go to simple breadsticks.  So glad I was able to tweak the recipe I found on the Rhodes website!

October Birchbox 2015

With my recent beauty box addiction, Dallin and I decided we could make room in our budget for some other subscription boxes we have wanted for a long time (He got his own dude one, while I got my beauty boxes win-win!).  One of the boxes I've been looking into for quite some time is Birchbox.  Honestly I have heard mixed reviews about their boxes, but I've always wanted to see if I'd like them for myself.

I had some mixed feelings about my first box in October.

It was cool because it was a very pretty pink box for Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Loved that!  Unfortunately there were a couple products I wasn't so stoked about, but as always its fun to try new things!

Don't mind the Oreo's in the top corner.  They are Dallin's fav! ;)

The samples included:
  • Avene Cleanance Soap-Free Gel Cleanser- Mixed feelings about this one.  Loved the size, I'm still using it actually.  I have noticed a difference in my skin, but it leaves my skin feeling tight and even more dry.  It is a simple fix though I just moisturize even more right after.
  • Davines LOVE Smoothing Shampoo-Just tried this and didn't notice any less frizz than normal, but maybe I just love my Herbal Essence too much. They also put in a bonus foil packet of the LOVE conditioner which was cool.
  • derma e Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask-I love trying new masks so I loved trying this one.  After it sets you get your hands wet and gently use circular motions to exfoliate your face.  It made my face so soft and smooth!
  • Eyeko Black Magic Mascara-I liked this formula and how long it made my lashes look but I'm not a fan of waterproof mascara and the packaging seemed kind of weird and wasteful to me.  I like to layer it over my Covergirl Lash Blast for a little extra length and definition, so I get the best of both worlds.
  • Penhaligon's Juniper Sling Eau de Toilette-I'm very sensitive to a lot of different perfumes and smells, so only a few work well for me.  Sadly this one didn't but if you are interested it is inspired by London Dry Gin and has scents of juniper, cardamom, soft leather, black cherry, and amber.
Overall I'd say this is a so/so box.  You might have noticed the BeautyBlender up there, I got that for free with the purchase of a year long subscription.  If you are interested I think they have codes for free gifts with a purchase of a subscription going on all the time.

You can find more info on Birchbox website.

Fall 2015 Walmart Beauty Box

I'm no beauty expert, but I love trying new beauty products!  I have always wanted to try more beauty boxes so I thought I would ease my way into it with a Walmart Beauty Box.  They are only $5 and you don't need to sign up for a subscription.  It was the perfect place to start.

This box had a lot of good products that I look forward to using more.

I just wish that there was a bigger sample of the Nivea Extended Moisture Body Lotion (the one in the foil packet)-it was amazing!  So hydrating and not greasy at all.  I loved it.

Another cool thing about this box is that at the bottom you get a stack of coupons and more small samples.  For 5 bucks I would definitely purchase it again.

If you are interested hop on over to Walmart's website and get one for yourself!

Primary Little Things

My Mom is seriously one of the most talented ladies I know.  She is so creative and loves to put a special "Regana touch" to everything she does.  She is serving as a Primary teacher right now and loving it.  I thought I'd share some little things she's been up to lately.

She got this adorable idea from Marci Coombs here.  As a side note we love Marci's blog she always has the cutest ideas and she is now selling her adorable printables and handouts.  If you love handouts as much as we do you'll love her!

My sister made her own version of the print out for my Mom to use and then my Mom filled a little bag with a homemade trail mix and gave it to her Primary kids for Thanksgiving.
If only I could be in her class!!
I caught her one day while she was walking out the door with this...

She drops these off to anyone who can't make it to her class on Sunday.
She's the cutest and she's also trained her girls well-I'm in the process of sending these out to some ladies in my ward.

I'll post more and hopefully a printable once they are finished.  I told you we love handouts!

Gifts from Christmas Past

With Christmas just around the corner I thought I would share a couple of my friend gifts from Christmas past.

One of the things I love to receive as a gift is beauty products.  What girl doesn't!?  After finding these CHI nail polishes for super cheap at Seagull Book I decided I could whip up something super quick with an adorable printout I found from the Crafting Chicks!

With all the hoopla of mine and Dallin's engagement last Christmas along with all the other events of the season, I wanted to do something even more simple that year.  I found the adorable Rudolph printouts from Tried & True. Since I bought a big pack of EOS lip balms at Costco I found some other printouts online too to use up the rest of the colors.  For Santa Claus and a Snowman you can go to Real Housemoms which was posted by Dimple Prints, and for the gingerbreadman you can go to her site here!  So much cuteness, they were a perfect gift!

The next gift I actually received and boy am I glad I did.  Last year when I was serving as the RS President in my Singles Ward, our Stake RS Presidency gave this to us.  Let me tell you these ladies were so fun to work with.  Each were such incredibly talented, and sweet women!  All of the little gifts, thoughts and get togethers they had were so special.

A Cupcake KIT!! Are you kidding me!? This gift is just screaming my name!

At the top they had an adorable cupcake cookbook full of recipes that look completely delicious!

Then they filled it with cupcake liners, a Christmas oven mitt, a spatula, sprinkles, and a cupcake candle! Such a fun and useful gift!

Now if only I can figure out what I'm going to give this year.
If you see any cute ideas send them my way! :)

Vegas Trip

My Mom has always wanted to see Donny and Marie at the Flamingo and I thought it was about time I take her.  She does so much for my family and I, she deserved a vacation.

We stayed at the MGM Grand and it was beautiful with all the fun shops and gorgeous lobby, but I wouldn't recommend staying there.  Sadly the rooms and service were just not that great.

I wish I would have gotten more pictures of my Dad and Dallin.  Those two were champs.  My Dad drove the whole way there and back.  And Dallin dealt with all my crazy worries and made sure I got food quick when I was starting to get hangry! haha

After we got settled in our room we decided to take off on the monorail to get a head start to the main event.  We stopped in the gift shop at the Flamingo and I made my Mom take a picture with Donny.
She was so excited! I am so glad I got to be with her for this fun show!

Before the show my Mom and I talked, laughed and almost cried because we were so happy and excited that we finally made it.

The show was incredible! We had the best seats and sat by the cutest little older ladies.  It couldn't have been more perfect.  After the show we looked at the two displays out front that they had for Donny and Marie.

Don't think we forgot about the guys!  They saw David Copperfield at MGM Grand and they loved it too! It was the perfect combo.

On our way out of town the next day we stopped by a bakery and got some pastries and tarts for breakfast and went to the M&M's World-factory not the one on the strip.  It was so nice to get away from the crowds of people and eat some chocolate!

It was a trip I will never forget.  It made me want to go on more double date trips with my fun parents, they were the cutest!  They made every minute, meals, late night and long drive so much fun!  I just wish we could have stayed longer.

October Highlights

October is one of my very favorite months, and this one did not disappoint.
Dallin has always wanted to make bagels from scratch, so we did! He found a pretty great recipe for them here!  We added just a little bit of extra water-maybe a teaspoon right after we mixed it in the KitchenAid, otherwise we followed the recipe.  The first time we tried it we had Asiago cheese, poppy seeds, kosher salt and cinnamon sugar as toppings, we also made a few with blueberries.  I mixed one up and put cinnamon on a blueberry and it turned out to be my favorite!! Yay for mistakes!

We went to the Fall Festival up in Logan with some of Dallin's siblings and it was so much fun.  Even though it was chilly and rainy we had such a great time.

We made bagels again to try and perfect them a little bit more.  And they were delicious!  We dipped the whole bagel in cinnamon sugar after we boiled them and they turned out way better.  And we only had the fire alarm go off once in our apartment.  Sorry neighbor!! We also tried jalapenos with the Asiago cheese.

I told Dallin to smile and he kept striking poses.  Love this funny guy! :)

Life with him is seriously so fun!

My birthday is on the 29th so of course we had to celebrate.  I love birthdays!  The day after was Dallin's big PE test so before he had to crack down and study he took me to lunch at my favorite little place in Draper (Food for Thought) and then we headed to my house.

My cute Mom was willing to party with me while Dallin studied for a bit.  We went shopping and had a blast.  This lady is the sweetest I'm telling ya!  She even bought me roses and the donut pans I've always wanted.  She gets me!

My mom has had this tradition for as long as I can remember of putting posters on our garage for any birthday or homecoming.  And this sweet lady remembered for mine.

Emma just started drawing people.  She is the smartest 2 year old!  She drew me and Dallin holding hands.  I can't even take it!! Oh and she has called me Fran forever because she couldn't say RuthAnne when she was younger. Usually I don't like nicknames besides Ruthie but she could call me anything with that cute face.

We had a family favorite-my mom's kebobs for dinner with the whole fam.  Dallin is always so willing to help and so is little Emma.

Brittany's family gave me an Amazon gift card and the most adorable towels and pennant for Halloween, Brittany made this with her Activity Day girls and a mini one with her Preschool kids and I wanted one so bad.  I screamed when Emma gave it to me.
Us Warner girls get pretty excited about decorations.

I put it up the second I got home!

The next day was Dallin's big test.  He's been studying so hard for a long time for this test.  When he got home I surprised him with a candy poster.  We'll find out how he did in a few weeks.  Hoping all the studying paid off!

We made donuts on Halloween from one of my fav blogs here.  They were so good!

Even little baby Adam loved them.

Oh I almost forgot my family is the sweetest with gifts.  Brandon and Courtney gave me money for my birthday and Cody gave me the biggest 2 pound bag of caramels I have ever seen for Chocolate Covered Wagon.  They were delicious!!

I love coloring.  Yes I'm like a five year old, but it is so relaxing and fun, so Dallin surprised me with all my own little coloring essentials.  I loved it.

Update: He also got me my favorite perfume.  He knows just what I like!

Well there's October in a nutshell.  We can't wait for the holidays ahead!!

The Reception: Part 2

Last post about the reception, I promise!  We (mostly Dallin, but deep down I did too) always wanted to have an amazing dance party, and I think we got it.  Our DJ was such a cool guy and he kept everyone dancing!  But before I get ahead of myself we should start with the bouquet toss.

Bethany was pretty stoked that she caught it.  Then there was the first dance.

And a dance with my dad and Dallin's mom.  Back in the day Mr. Ralph here was a very impressive dancer, trust me he has boxes of trophies in the garage.

It's always so fun to dance with my sweet dad.

 Then the party started!

Everyone was dancing-even Grandma!

Like mother-like daughter.  Goodness I love these fun women!  My incredible Mom deserved to dance the night away especially after dealing with me and all my wedding things for months.  She is such a sweet, patient and kind lady.

Dallin had an impromptu solo dance.  He LOVED it!

Eventually he roped me into it too.

Since it was the weekend of the fourth of July we could totally have all the fun fireworks we had always dreamed of.

We had a sparkler send off.

And surprised everyone with some bigger fireworks right before we left.

Right about now Dallin looked over at me and we were both just grinning from ear to ear.  It was so fun to just drive off and talk about how perfect everything went and how much fun we had.  I will never forget how we both agreed that, that was THE best reception we had both ever been too. :)  What a perfect day!
