Letters From Home

A few years ago when I was a Relief Society Instructor I gave these handouts to remind each sister how much they are loved from their Father in Heaven.

Sometimes we get caught up with the romantic side of Valentine's Day and it can last the whole month of February.  I like to focus instead on Love the whole month!  From and for everyone!  It is so needed to maintain a loving relationship with our Heavenly Father.  He is always there for us and is so willing to help us.

There are a few things we can do to help that connection grow, almost like letters from our heavenly home:
-Pray
-Study the Scriptures
-Have faith
-Remember Heavenly Father loves you!

"The most powerful Being in the universe is the Father of your spirit.  He knows you, He loves you with a perfect love.  God sees you not only as a mortal being on a small planet who lives for a brief season.  He sees you as His child.  He sees you as the being you are capable and designed to become. He wants you to know that you matter to Him.  May we ever believe, trust and align our lives so that we will understand our true eternal worth and potential."  -President Uchtdorf

I put these tags on either side of little boxes of conversation hearts to look like a post card.  The smaller boxes fit perfectly, but really either one looks adorable!

These would be great for a friend that needs some love, visiting teaching, and even Valentine's for your church class!

*I did include my original file with Chapter 1 Our Father in Heaven, but I also included an updated Our Heavenly Father Loves you so anyone would be able to use it.*

Sending Some Love

This may sound super strange, but I love mail!  Of course not junk mail or bills, but I love getting cards and notes from friends and family.  Its a little surprise that means so much!

Something I have always loved to do at this time of year is give someone a surprise "heart attack", don't be alarmed nothing serious.  All you do is cut out a bunch of hearts of all different sizes and colors, write some notes on most of them and tape them all over their door!  It is so fun!  I love that you could do it to your neighbors, friends locker, or even your own house (love this idea from 71toes).

So I decided to combine the two, to send some love to someone who needs it!

You can find these adorable mailboxes at the Dollar Spot in Target.  Walmart has little paper favor mailboxes that you could use too!

Fill your mailbox with different sizes of cardstock hearts, you can write things you love about the person you are giving it to or just little notes!  I also threw in some candy because why not!?  Attach this super cute tag and you've got the cutest Valentine yet.

Or you could fill your mailbox with tons of different Valentines like this little treat, and this fortune cookie one!

Or this tag could be placed on a candy bar with a little 'thinking of you' note!

A little treat for someone so sweet!

When I found these little bags in the Dollar Bins at Target I knew I just had to get some.  They are perfect for wrapped candy, jewelry, party favors, or even Bingo bags and little games for kids.

This time around I decided to use them for little treat bags for the super sweet people in my life.

Just like these cute bags can be used for a variety of things, these cute tags can be paired with any kind of goodie or treat.  I thought it would be so cute to wrap up just one brownie or cookie or even pair it with a little box of chocolates!

Any time you want to give a treat to someone oh so sweet, you can find these cute little tags right HERE!

Your friendship is worth a fortune!

The people in our lives are pretty special and I wanted to find a little way to show them how much I appreciate their friendship.

I picked up the cutest little take out containers at Walmart, and some fortune cookie erasers and that's where it all began.

Throw in the cutest little tags, and decorate them to your liking or you can print on colored paper to make it super simple.

This would be the cutest little valentine with the fortune cookie eraser for little elementary kids.

Or get the real deal and dip some fortune cookies in a few different kinds of chocolate and sprinkle away!

Dallin and I made these for family night and they were SO fun to make and deliver!  We delivered a few to our friends in the area for a little surprise.

Who doesn't love a surprise with chocolate?!

February Visiting Teaching Handout

Christ's Atonement Is Evidence of God's Love

This months message is one that is perfect all year round, but especially during the month of LOVE!  This message reminds us of not only the perfect love from our Savior, but from our Heavenly Father as well.  Heavenly Father gave His Only Begotten Son that we might live!

A few scriptures that I loved from this message include Romans 8:35, 38-39 and John 3:16.

Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us so much and so perfectly!  Each one of us really is SO loved!  So in case the sisters I visit teach needed a little reminder or even a refresher of God's love for them, I wanted to let them know they are SO loved no matter what is going on in their lives.

This month I hit the Target Dollar Bins again and of course came away with too much.  These little heart containers are the perfect thing to add a few heart shaped chocolates to.  Tie it off with a little ribbon and a tag (free printable below) and you're visiting teaching is almost done!  If you can't find these containers you could really give them anything heart shaped:  a decoration, cookies, little box of chocolates, Valentines towels, etc.

If you are going the route of the monthly calendar give them the print out (also down below) including the new months calendar and message, with fresh new Valentine's ribbons to update their frame.

Or if you're going the route of the monthly calendar and magnet you can choose from so many adorable heart shaped papers, foam cut outs, or decorated mini or regular clothes pins to attach a magnet to.  The possibilities are endless.

No matter what you plan on giving make sure you give the message that they are loved not only by you, but especially by our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

If you'd like the printout of the You are so LOVED! tags or message and calendar you can go HERE!

December Highlights

We started the month off in Southern California!  We totally loved relaxing and recharging in such a carefree place.  A vacation with this cutie was much needed.

We ate a lot, had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back!  If you're planning a trip to this area be sure to check out my three different posts on our vacation:  what we ATE, our itinerary, and some Disney Tips!

It was a bummer but we had to come home eventually.

I loved seeing my niece and nephew after and giving them some mickey suckers and extra chocolate coins from Disney.  Adam and Emma were so excited it was so adorable!

I finished up my calligraphy class!  I loved re-learning this.  I did something super cute for my family members with this quote.

And I finally finished this birthday gift!

Brittany and I dipped some oreos!  I gave them as a gift too!

We had our favorite Nelson Family Christmas Party.  My Aunt Terrie was over it this year and her family themed it all around the Grinch!  It was totally adorable!

I brought a relish tray and had to add my touch to it.

My sweet grandma always shares a little message.  She is such a sweet, kind and strong example to everyone in our family!  Sorry to catch you blinking Gram!

They gave everyone a candy cane for a little favor.  My favorite part was watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas with popcorn with all of my extended family and playing a ornament swap.

We made some of our favorite popcorn for our neighbors and friends!

And delivered them with the cutest tags!

Brittany throws THE cutest parties!  Adam requested a dragon themed birthday and Brittany went to town, it was so well done!  We played red dragon, green dragon and the kids had to get the dragons treasure by the castle.  I was a pretty scary dragon if I do say so myself.

Adam was SO excited to open his presents, he couldn't contain it all in his cute little body!

My brother and his wife welcomed the sweetest baby girl who arrived just in time for Christmas!

We kept up our tradition of seeing The Nutcracker before Christmas.  It really is so magical and makes me want to be a ballerina so darn bad!  After the show I'm always doing leaps and pirouettes to our car.

My mom threw a Christmas Eve Party and a Christmas Dinner.  She made these cute little name tags and attached them to little baskets full of Christmas Kisses!

I received some free products from Influenster and decided to make some dips with them for Christmas Eve.  The crowd favorite was the Jalapeno Popper Dip with French's Crispy Jalapenos and baguette slices.

Dallin and Emma won the candy guessing game!  My mom filled up the cutest ornaments with peanut butter M&M's it was so delicious and fun!  Oh and don't miss Dallin's beautiful Christmas sweater.  Nothing says Christmas like sloths climbing on a tree.

I also received some Country Crock from Influenster and it helped make the perfect Christmas Morning breakfast completely amazing.

We loved celebrating Christmas!  We couldn't find our stockings or ornaments from moving this year, so we had a naked tree and bought some cute stockings at the dollar store to make up for it!

We brought a cheese platter to my family's New Years Eve party!  These were the 3 cheeses that everyone just loved!  Port Salut is the perfect soft cheese!  We loved the Brie this time around the most!

Everyone brought something to share.  My mom makes these little open faced sandwiches that are so addictive and easy!

Bethany made this super yummy sausage dip too!

And Brittany brought makings for ice cream sundaes!  I wish I got a picture of the whole spread!  It was so great and we had SO much food!

We are so excited for 2017!  We have been working on a few things on our house and I've got loads of things I can't wait to share here this year!
